6/19/24 - TS Alberto Forms
The season's first named storm has formed in the Bay of Campeche. Potential Tropical Cyclone One was upgraded this morning to Tropical Storm Alberto. It will not become a hurricane and will make landfall early Thursday along the Mexican Gulf coast just north of Tampico. Rain and tropical storm force winds can be expected along the coast of NE Mexico and the mid-lower Texas coast. Rain will also spread inland towards the San Antonio region later today. The heaviest rain for the Houston area is over. The Corpus Christi region could see over 6 inches of rain. Stay safe and vigilant for flooding if you are in these areas.
