Alberto May Form In The Gulf By Tuesday PM
We expect Alberto to form sometime MON PM - TUES in the Bay of Campeche. The system should become a moderate tropical storm and make landfall in Mexico by Thursday as building high pressure to its north will steer it W/WNW into Mexico. Some moisture will be slung toward the TX/LA coasts next week. Some parts of the western Gulf coast could receive 5-7" inches next week. Due to the high potential of a system forming, all interests along the Gulf Coast from LA to Mexico should continue to monitor the progress of this system. Stay tuned for updates.
NHC currently at 50% but we expect a jump soon to high development chances.
5-7” inches of rain will be possible next week for the Mexico, TX and Louisiana coastlines as moisture is pulled north.
EURO ensembles are in high agreement of a system forming.
EURO shows an 80-90% chance of development next week.
