Gonzalo has been upgraded to a CAT 1 hurricane with winds of 75 mph. A hurricane warning is in effect for the British Virgin Islands & a hurricane watch is in effect for Puerto Rico and the US Virgin islands. Puerto Rico will likely see tropical storm force winds and 2 to 4 inches of rain. Weather in the region will continue to go downhill tonight and continue into the first half of the day tomorrow. The areas that will most likely see hurricane force winds tonight will be the British Virgin Islands, St. Martin and Anguilla. Please stay safe tonight & tomorrow if you are in the region.

Once Gonzalo gets north of the Caribbean, it will likely intensify into a category three storm and could affect Bermuda late next week as a category one or two storm.
