9/2/23 95L discussion: We are now tracking the latest system in the Atlantic, Invest 95L. This wave just moved off the coast of Africa and the NHC already gives it a 70% chance (high) of developing as models have been very aggressive and consistent with development. This wave will track generally westward to west-northwestward for the next several days. Those of you in the Caribbean should keep an eye on this one closely. We see indications the mid-level ridge that is steering it west could break down which would raise the chances it would miss the Caribbean and we also see the possibility that easterly shear and dry air could keep it weaker than what models show and this would allow a more westerly track possibly. The bottom line, lots of time to track this one as it is still several days from possibly impacting the Caribbean. It's definitely way too early to know if this will impact the Bahamas, Bermuda or the U.S. mainland. Stay tuned for updates as we track newly designated Invest 95.
