A tropical storm warning is now in effect for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands as Fiona will bring impacts to the region this weekend. Also, The National Hurricane Center now forecasts Fiona to become a hurricane next week after passing Hispaniola. A north turn is likely early next week, but some models forecast a building ridge which could force Fiona west-northwest closer to the SE U.S. in the long term. There's still uncertainty with the final track. We can say it's looking increasingly likely that Florida will not have to contend with Fiona. Stay tuned for updates.
