Tropical Depression Two has been upgraded to Tropical Storm Bonnie with 40 mph winds. Bonnie is expected to make landfall near Charleston, SC sometime tomorrow afternoon. A tropical storm warning remains in effect for the SC coastline.
Once the storm makes landfall, it's expected to slow down and turn towards the northeast and dissipate early next week over eastern NC. This will be a low impact event for the region as winds will not be the main issue. Heavy rainfall, up to 5 inches in some spots and rip currents will be the main issues. We have outlined the hazards below from the NHC.
