THU 9/11 11PM EDT - TS Edouard Forms & 92L May Brew In Gulf

TD 6 in the central Atlantic has been upgraded to Tropical Storm Edouard. It will stay out in the open Atlantic & only be a threat to marine interests. It should become Hurricane Edouard in the next several days. This would make it the 4th hurricane in the Atlantic season.

Invest 92L is moving over the FL peninsula & will emerge in the E Gulf of Mexico sometime on Saturday. There is currently a 40% chance that this system develops once it reaches the gulf. Some model forecasts are showing the possibility of favorable conditions in the central and western Gulf of Mexico early next week. The general track will be towards the west northwest. As always with invests, there is a lot of uncertainty in the track and intensity. Residents and interests from Texas to the Florida Panhandle should keep a close eye on the system once it re-emerges over open waters on Saturday. At this time, a tropical cyclone threat for the Gulf of Mexico cannot be ruled out. As always, check back for updates.
