SAT 11AM EDT - Arthur Is Now Post-Tropical. Advisories Ended.

7/5/14 11AM EDT: The NHC has stopped issuing advisories on Arthur as the system is now post tropical. Effects will still be felt along its path even though it is no longer tropical. Arthur will be removed from the Hurricane Tracker app later this evening.

7/5/14 5AM EDT: Arthur has been downgraded to a tropical storm and is packing winds of 70 mph as it quickly moves into western Novia Scotia. The weather in Novia Scotia will continue to go downhill rapidly. Here is the latest from the NHC: 5 AM ET, 70 mph winds, 981 mb, moving at NE at 22 mph. The good news is that Arthur is still rapidly moving off to the ne very quickly, so effects will be rather short lived in any one location. The NHC expects Arthur to become a post tropical cyclone later today.

TS Warnings are in effect for Novia Scotia including Breton island, Prince Edward Island & for New Brunswick from the US/Canada border to Grand-Anse. High wind warnings are also in effect for portions of down east Main where winds may exceed 40 mph. A wind gust of 46 mph has already been recorded in Yarmouth Novia Scotia this morning. TS force winds extend outward up to 160 miles from the center. Rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches can be expected along the forecast track today.
