6/29/25 - Tropical Storm Barry & TS Flossie Form
We now have our second named system in the Atlantic. TS Barry formed this morning in the Bay of Campeche. It will make landfall in eastern Mexico within the next 24 hours. Flooding and mudslides will be an issue down there. On average, the 2nd Atlantic named storm forms on July 17th. We are running a bit ahead of schedule.
Also, Tropical Storm Flossie formed this am south of Mexico in the eastern Pacific basin. it’s forecasted to stay south of Mexico and become a hurricane. A tropical storm watch is in effect for parts of southern Mexico on the Pacific side. It should weaken on approach to the Baja Peninsula due to cooler waters.

Whether we like it or not, the NHC in all its products is required to use "Gulf of America". The Hurricane Tracker App will follow suit for consistency as we get our data from them. We don't make the rules, sorry. Our data comes from NOAA feeds, where they have made the change official. We have no choice in order the keep data flowing into the app. Thanks for understanding.
