Idalia is now a CAT 2 hurricane with winds of 100 mph per the 5PM EDT NHC update. The coast of GA and a portion of the lower SC are now under a hurricane watch. The NHC track shifted west about 25 miles a little closer to the Tallahassee region. More track shifts could come before landfall in the morning tomorrow. Life-threatening storm surge inundation is likely along portions of the Florida Gulf Coast where a Storm Surge Warning is in effect. Residents in these areas should follow any advice given by local officials. Dangerous winds above 100 mph will also be possible near the center. Please stay safe if you are along the path of Idalia.
