The NHC now states a major hurricane will make landfall along the Gulf coast early Thursday morning with winds near 115 mph and they could be even higher. The track has once again been shifted to the west and the NHC states more west track shifts are likely later today. This means the chances of Laura making a direct impact in the Houston/Galveston area is high. Residents in SE TX and SW Louisiana should use today and tomorrow to prepare for a major event and listen to local management authorities. This is a serious situation unfolding and we urge everyone to do what is required to protect life and property.
