Latest model data is latching onto the idea of a tropical storm or minimal hurricane forming in the Gulf within the next 5 days. The National Hurricane Center currently gives a 40% chance of development. If you are a resident or have interests along the northern Gulf coast, please watch the tropics closely during the next 5 days. Please follow the NHC outlooks as it has not yet been designated as an invest.

Today's European model run continues with the idea of a minimal hurricane impacting the northern gulf coast in about 3-5 days.

If this system develops, it could drop over a foot of rain from LA to the Texas coast.

The tropical wave is currently located in the Southeastern Bahamas.
