It appears we will begin August with development across the Main Development Region (MDR) of the Atlantic. Invest #99L is a robust wave that's just moved off the coast of Africa and already has a 70% chance of development (high) through the next 5 days. Most models do support some development over the next several days. Development may be limited or delayed due to the fast forward motion of the wave and the presence of some dry air. However, this wave is associated with a large pocket of moisture and has a better chance of developing than any of the recent waves we have seen. This wave is likely to track west-west northwest over the coming days and interests in the eastern Caribbean should monitor the future process of this system. If development occurs, its too early to say if the U.S. or other countries could be impacted. Stay tuned for updates on this system as it tracks westward.
