8/22/16 - 7AM EDT - We will have a new post issued here by 7PM this evening. Lots to discuss in regards to 99L.
We are still tracking TS Fiona this afternoon. Fiona is moving toward the WNW and is expected to weaken back to a tropical depression over the next few days as it encounters increasing wind shear. At this time, Fiona does not appear to be a threat to Bermuda or the U.S.

Behind Fiona, Invest 99L is disorganized this and lacks deep convection near its broad center. The NHC states that 99L has a 60% chance of development within 5 days and a 10% chance within the next 48 hours. This system will track towards the eastern Caribbean Sea over the next several days. It is unlikely that 99L will become anything more than a depression or weak TS before tracking through the NE Caribbean around Wed/Thur. It is important to note that the highly reliable EURO model has dropped development as of its run this afternoon. Some models develop it, while others do not. Keep in mind, according to the NHC there is a 40% chance it won't develop. At this time, 99L poses no immediate threat to the Caribbean Sea as well as the US. Check out the video update we published today for more in-depth information on 99L here: Invest 99L Update
A vigorous tropical wave will be moving off the coast of Africa over the next couple of days. The NHC states there is a 70% chance (high) that this system will develop. For now, it appears this system will move west-northwest and is likely to stay out at sea and not affect land.
