SUN 8/2/15 4AM HST - Guillermo Heading To Affect Hawaii As A Tropical Storm
Hurricane Guillermo is a CAT 2 hurricane with winds of 105 mph. The storm is moving to the WNW at 14 mph. A deep ridge of high pressure to the north/northeast of the hurricane will continue to steer it towards the wnw, and by Wed-Thu, Guillermo should be in the vicinity of the Hawaiian Islands. It's important to note that Guillermo should weaken into a tropical storm late Mon and into Tues as upper level shear begins to affect the storm. Guillermo should be a weakening tropical storm as it approaches Hawaii. Based on the current forecast track, rain and ts force winds should begin to affect the islands late Wed into Thu. All interests and residents in the Hawaiian Islands should continue to keep a close eye on Hurricane Guillermo.
