WED 8/27 9AM EDT - Watching Invest 98L In The Gulf
We mentioned a couple of days ago that we may see an area of low pressure try to form somewhere in the northern/western Gulf off the coast of Texas. A broad area of low pressure has formed as of this morning. The NHC is only giving this system a low chance of development as conditions aren't all that favorable due to some moderate wind shear. However, the Hurricane Hunters may fly into the system this afternoon to gather some more information. If you have an interest along the middle-lower Texas coastline, please keep an eye on the Gulf in case something tries to spin up. Models show the low pressure moving inland into south Text within 24-36 hours. We will keep you updated if there are any major changes with this system.
