App tip: Version 5.1 of our iPhone and iPad app lets users add an active storm alert widget directly to their home screen. This widget lets you see storm activity and storm types at a glance without opening the app. For example, when a storm we are tracking forms or changes status, the icon for the storm type will spin and display the number of storms for each type. See the instructions below on how to add our widget if you have not previously done so.
