A Hurricane Warning has been issued from Anclote River to Mexico Beach, Florida. Also, A Storm Surge Warning has been issued from Flamingo to Indian Pass, Florida, including Tampa Bay and Charlotte Harbor.

9/24/24 - TS Helene Forms, Expected To Become a Major Gulf Hurricane

Tropical Storm Helene has formed with winds of 45 mph. It’s expected to move into the eastern Gulf of Mexico in a couple of days and become a major hurricane before making landfall along the Big Bend region of Florida Thursday evening. Storm surge and hurricane watches are in effect along the forecasted track. Please make sure your hurricane plan is in place and listen to local officials.

Storm surge up to 15 feet is forecasted near where Helene makes landfall.

9/24/24 - Storm Surge and Hurricane Watches Issued For Portions of West FL Coast

The NHC has issued storm surge and hurricane watches for portions of the west FL coast. Winds up to 115 mph near where the center makes landfall and storm surge up to 15 feet will be possible. Impacts are likely to begin Wednesday night in FL. If you are in the path, be sure you have a hurricane plan in place and follow advice given by local officials.
