7/28/16 - Atlantic Beginning To Wake Up

The month of July has been very quiet, but we are now tracking two Invests in the open Atlantic (Invest 96L & Invest 97L). Each invest continues to become a little more organized and we give each system about a 50% chance of becoming at least a tropical depression over the next several days. At this time, conditions are favorable for further development of each system. However, over the coming days Invest 97L will have to battle land interaction in the Caribbean and Invest 96L will meet up with a new surge of dusty, dry air in the central Atlantic.

Neither system will likely amount to much, but with above normal water temps (see image below) we cannot disregard possible intensification down the road if these incoming waves fro Africa can hold together and make it to the western part of the Atlantic basin.

We will be back with another update as conditions warrant. Thanks for using the Hurricane Tracker App!

7/12/16 - Atlantic Still Quiet...

We expect the Atlantic to be quiet at least for the next 7-10 days, then conditions may become more favorable around the end of the month for development chances. It's normal for July to be a quiet month most years.

We think there's a good chance we see the next named Atlantic system by the end of the 1st week of August.

Hope you are having a great summer! We expect Aug-Oct to be fairly busy so check back for updates.
